Week 55/102: maandag 13 juni email van Elder Meads

Why did the missionary cross the ocean?
This week was good, but I'm glad that it's over.  I'll show you how it went exactly:

Monday: We had a good P-day starting it off with service with a member, and I love them a lot.  We stayed for a while and ate a good lunch.  Afterward, we emailed, shopped, did the regular P-day stuff

Tuesday: District Meeting went well.  We taught on finding people to teach, which I felt went really well.  We also went on exchanges with Roosendaal.  Elder Dearden & I hit up the streets of Vlissingen and we had some suprise service and dinner with an investigator which was pretty amazing.  I love when that happens!

Wednesday: We exchanged back, and then went through the day doing some look-ups and knocking, and ended the day with an investigator who wanted to feed the missionaries for the first time.  It started well since we were eating Chinese, and also I love them, but all of a sudden, the youngest (probably 8-10 months) decided today must have been too much to deal with, and started screaming as if possessed, so we had a very short lesson about
reading the Book of Mormon for gaining a testimony.

Thursday: We had a lesson scheduled with a woman who cancels more and more often, so we called just to make sure that it'd go through.  She said it'd be perfect, so we gathered or stuff and were heading out. Yet just as when we're going to go, she calls and cancels.  Give me patience!  Well, all was not completely lost during that next hour. We did some look ups and we were pretty glad to go with our made back-up plans.  It filled time, and we ended getting back pretty late from look ups that night.  Okay, not too late maybe, but we still hadn't eaten dinner x.X

Friday: Another appointment fell through today, but it wasn't their fault.  We ran out of look-ups, so we knocked, and found once again, that knocking is kind of soul sucking after 2 hours, so we mixed it up throughout the day biking to a small dorp to explore and buying the best jam I've ever tasted all while contacting.  We ended the day by a
members house for dinner, and she was extremely peev'd about the newly re-enforced hour rule for missionary meals, so she firmly told us that the hour did not begin until we were sitting at the table, and then forbade us to sit down until the food was completely ready.  Funny.

Saturday: The day was full of Leadership meetings, and travel.  Not a really spectacular day, but a mission needed day.  We ended the day with seeing an inactive member, and it was a really good lesson.  We committed her to
come to church.

Sunday: She didn't come :/, but it was good regardless.  I had to give a 20 min talk in Dutch to the branch, and I wasn't concerned about it until the moment came, and then while I sat there in sacrament, I started to freak out.  I was prepared and all but just panicked.  Everything went perfectly well with my talk, so there was no need to worry.
We ended this day with a dinner appointment by one of my favorite members, who also were not happy about the re-enforced hour rule, and said that it was more "guidelines" than anything.  Kind of funny.

That was my week, how was yours?  Did you see any gross bugs this week?  Let me know.    -Elder Meads
