Week 047/102: maandag 18 april email van Elder Meads

Hoi everyone, from Vlissingen!

This week was really busy! Here´s some requested day by day action:

Monday: Lekker P-day. Emailed, shopped, ate at a members. We came back to the church after dinner because my companion forgot to email president, and we hardly had turned on the computers when the door bell rang, and a member who was cleaning answered it and called us down. We came upon a crying woman with a guitar whom I had never seen before. We asked what we could do for her, and she managed to ask us to pray for her children in between sobs. So we just said a powerful prayer with her right then and there, and felt like she should get a blessing of comfort as well. We ended up calling the member oveer and had him give it, partly because he has
better dutch than us to give it elequantly, and also so we can create some early member relationships. He also gave a powerful blessing and the spirit was pretty palpable. She left and we made an appointment for the
following day.

Tuesday: Well, in true mission fashion, she didn´t show up. So we looked her up, and she wasn´t home. We were a little dissapointed, but oh well I guess. We had no phone number to call her by and no other way to contact her. So we went on with our day of other look ups and such.

Wednesday: More looking up, it was actually pretty busy with lessons and so, and they all went so well! We had to leave a bit early to go sleep over in Capelle, a city near Rotterdam, to make it to temple conference the following day on time. I love the elders in Capelle and we had a good time & stayed up a little too late :/

Thursday: Groggily woke up at 5am and started our journey to the temple. We BARELY made it on time, and I enjoyed the temple. It was a little short lived since we had to get everyone in and out, but whatever, this is my 5th or 6th time going through. Directly afterward we went to a place called Keukenhof, which is a touristy place really famous for their amazing tulips. It´s extremely dutch, and if you ever decide to come here, you´re probably going to see this. Really breathtakingly pretty. We got back pretty late to our apartment and just crashed onto our beds.

Friday: Woke up late, & had another normal day of look ups and everything. Not tons of success today :/

Saturday: We did more look ups and had some pretty decent success packing next week full of appointments and everything. We had to leave at 6 to go sleep over in Antwerpen for Stake Conference. Belgium is so beautiful. It looks like a story book, plus the Belië girls are really gorgeous. Just saying :).

Sunday: Went to Stake conference in Brussels, and it was a unique experience. I got culture shock for the first time on my mission. Everyone there speaks a dilect of dutch called flams which is really french sounding dutch. They also spoke french. I spoke with a few french girls, some french guys, some flams guys, some flams girls, and
it was a really cool experience. We had to leave early though since our ride had to go. We got home, scoring more appointments over the phone and looked up that woman from Monday. Well this time she answered. Ffinally, and she was pretty happy to see us. She said that she had slept in that next day, and had no phone to call. Also, we set a return appointment on Friday this coming week, hopefully we can help her out some more!

Now it´s today. Send me emails, it will make me happy. I love reading all of your emails everyone! Here are some pretty weird pics of some things I saw in my travels:
