Week 038/102: maandag 15 februari email van Elder Meads

Hello everyone,

So this week was fast and slow at the same time, but so it goes with a mission.
We seem to have trouble here in Rotterdam with investigators going very lazy and not keeping our appointments. They always schedule it, and we show up, but
without a doubt, they will tell us it´s not a good time right now and to come back another date only to repeat the same process, again and again.  So that´s frustrating.  What was cool this week was that we went to a baptism - not one of ours, but one in one of my companion's previous areas. We traveled to Zutermeer, and the baptism was great! It was a Chinese guy, and even though I didn´t know him, I was still pretty happy he was getting baptized.   Honestly it was a little weird since I`ve never attended a baptism for someone who wasn´t 8 years old, so seeing a grown man go under the water was just... not weird, but different.
Also I maybe forgot to mention this in an email a few weeks ago, but i went to the temple with the ward here, and while we missed a session by just a few minutes, which was rotten luck for us, we got to do baptisms for the dead. That was really cool because as missionaries we´re not allowed to do the actual baptizing for our investigators.  I was able to perform the baptisms in Dutch and with members of the ward I´m in, which was awesome! There´s one word in dutch in the baptismal thingy, and i just could not pronounce it right. I eventually got it, but man, it was difficult.
I love you guys tons, thanks for the increase of emails that I´ve gotten, it is always a jubilant P-day when I get on and lots of emails sit in my inbox!
